Capital Early Intervention Preschool Program, Dover, DE

Visual Arts, Music and Drama Residency
Artists: Katja Lackey, Cynthia Breese and Stefanie Jaye (October 2010– May 2011)
This very intense residency is conducted at five sites serving developmentally delayed or at-risk four year olds. Each site is receiving twenty-four weeks exposure to all three artistic disciplines. The artwork produced during the visual arts portion, as well as video of culminating event performances, will continue to be displayed at VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity.
Charlton Transition Program at Delaware State University & Wesley College, Dover, DE

Theater and Creative Movement
Artists: Stefanie Jaye (December 2010 – May 2011)
This continuing program is a theater-based residency. The group is currently comprised of students (ages 17-21) that are involved in the Charlton Transitional programs at DSU and Wesley College. Again, these participants focused on the development of social skills through dramatic exercises. This program will culminate in a performance on May 7, 2011

East Dover Elementary ILC, Dover, DE

Visual Arts Residency
Artist: Michele Green (March – June 2011)
This pilot residency site is with intensive learning classrooms with students with both academic and emotional concerns. Program participants are working on the development of basic artistic skills and gaining exposure to a variety of mediums and processes.
This project is part of Delaware Division of the Arts’ supported Race With the Arts initiative and is funded, in part, by Delaware Division of the Arts and CVS/Caremark Foundation.
Kent County Community School, Dover, DE
(6 school sites, 15 classrooms/ 2 8-wk rotations)
Visual Arts, Music and Drama Residency
Artist: Kizzie Cobb, Cynthia Breese and Stefanie Jaye (October 2010– May 2011)
This longstanding residency will provide drama, music and the visual arts to students in the KCCS program as well as the Delaware Autism program. Program participants at these sites are engaging, often for the first time, in the creative process. Program participants will be working on developing creative expression opportunities as well as motor skill and language development.
This AIR project is funded, in part, by DFRC, Inc and Wilmington Flower Market.

Visual Arts Residency
Artist: Colleen Lowe (November 2010 – January 2011)
This residency is conducted during the summer school program with a transitional group of high school age students with autism. Students explored various art-making concepts and developed new media exposure. This year the project culminated in a community exhibit of residency work at a local restaurant.

Visual Arts and Music Residency
Artists: Heidi Lowe, Valerie Bailey and Val Schulte (November 2009 – May 2010)
This visual arts residency has our teaching artists working with a group of adults with severe disabilities. The residency will be the first exposure to arts education and music enrichment for many of the participants.
One community site programming is funded, in part, by AstraZeneca.
Stockley Center, Georgetown, DE

Visual Arts Residency
Artist: Heidi Lowe (November 2009 – May 2010)
This residency project is providing the services of an art educator to the residents of the Stockley Center. The center is a facility for adults with disabilities. This project will culminate in a final exhibit at the center as well as participation in VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity exhibit.
