Visual Arts Residency Artist: Kizzie Cobb
This continuing residency has the artist working with students in an intensive learning center. Program participants are receiving exposure to visual arts education and are working on developing basic artistic skills and creative processes. The residency is much needed, as the children in this center receive limited or none arts education experiences.

Capital Early Intervention Preschool Program

Visual Arts, Music and Drama Residency Artists: Katja Lackey, Cynthia Breese and Stefanie JayeThis very intense residency is conducted at five sites serving developmentally delayed or at-risk four year olds. Each site is receiving twenty-four weeks exposure to all three artistic disciplines. The artwork produced during the visual arts portion, as well as video of culminating event performances, will continue to be displayed at VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity.

Theater and Creative Movement Artists: Stefanie JayeThis continuing program is a theater-based residency. The group is currently comprised of students (ages 17-21) that are involved in the Charlton Transitional programs at DSU. Again, these participants focused on the development of social skills through dramatic exercises. This program is funded, in part, by the Wilmington Flower Market and DFRC, Inc.

Visual Arts, Music and Drama Residency Artist: Kizzie Cobb, Cynthia Breese and Stefanie JayeThis longstanding residency will provide two seperate eight week drama, music and the visual arts residencies to students in the KCCS program as well as the Delaware Autism program totaling 48 weeks of art programming. Program participants at these sites are engaging, often for the first time, in the creative process. Program participants will be working on developing creative expression opportunities as well as motor skill and language development. This project is funded, in part, by DFRC, Inc.

Visual Arts and Music Residency Artists: Heidi Lowe, Nina Galerstein and Val SchulteThis visual arts and music residency has our teaching artists working with a group of adults with severe disabilities. The residency will be the first exposure to arts education for many of the participants. There will be a performance of the Music Residency on March 30, 2010 at the Howard T. Ennis School. This residency takes place in Sussex and New Castle county sites.

Visual Arts Residency Artist: Heidi LoweThis residency project is providing the services of an art educator to the residents of the Stockley Center. The center is a facility for adults with disabilities. This project will culminate in a final exhibit at the center as well as participation in VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity exhibit.
